In the Information Systems and Information Technology Management course from Griffith University , you will also develop a solid grounding in the principles and practice of information technology and an in-depth knowledge of information and communication technologies and information systems. With this knowledge, you will be able to confidently manage the functional responsibility for choosing, implementing and maintaining information systems and technology within, and across, organisations.

You will graduate with industry-recognised skills as well as technical, analytical, and research skills in information systems and information technology. You will be prepared for a wide range of senior employment opportunities relating to the development and management of information technology in any organisation. These positions may include systems analyst/developer, web/eCommerce developer, database designer and administrator and information resource manager. It can also lead to higher-level positions involved in formulating strategic plans and developing policy. Graduates are not limited to working in the IT industry but may work in all industries where the management of IT and implementation of information systems is essential for efficient and effective operations.
Overview
The Information Technology course at the University of Waikato aims to ensure you move beyond the classroom and into professional work situations with a full complement of employable IT skills.
The course's main feature is the industry internship (CSMAX596) paper which gives you industry experience for one whole trimester. As an intern, you will be mentored and supported by your employer and University supervisor as you work on a real-world problem in an industry team setting.

General requirements
For admission, students will need to have completed a relevant bachelor's degree, normally in Computer Science. You will need an average of at least B in 80 points of 300 level or above including at least 40 points in Computer Science or a related field.
Students with a non-ICT undergraduate degree are encouraged to apply for the Master of Information Technology and will be offered the 240 point version of the qualification
